Question:

Transition Lenses?

I remember clearly when I told the optometrist that I DID NOT want transition/polarized lenses but I guess she heard wrong. Is there anyway to make my glasses not get dark in the sun?

  1. No, You have to go back and have them remake the lenses.  Transition lenses are moderately expesnsive so make sure they didn't give you an additional charge for the transitions. Polarized lenses are something totally different.  Polarization always has some tint.  See a reputable eye care provider and there should be no problem getting this resolved.

  2. Your optical should be able to get them made without the changing tint at no charge. Make sure that you were not charged the extra for them and make sure they did not charge your insurance for them. I have made this mistake before (OOPS!) and ordered the wrong lense for someone too. I am a reputable optician. People do make mistakes. Nicely ask them to rmake them and I bet that they will. Just explain that you do not like the Transitions and that you want them done in clear.  Good luck!
