Transport links between Sheffield and Ilkeston?

Question

Other than car and Taxi what transport links are there between Sheffield and Ilkeston, my Grandad said I could most likely catch a bus to Nottingham and then catch a bus from there but he never said which buses cos he's never tried it before.

So could you suggest any transport links between Sheffield and Ilkeston?

1. Train or coach from Sheffield to Derby, then bus from Derby to Ilkeston (may involve several buses between various places in Derby)

2. Train from Sheffield to Langley Mill, then bus to Giltbrook, then another bus to Ilkeston.

3. Train from Sheffield to Nottingham, then one or more buses to Ilkeston.

Whichever route you take, the journey will typically be between 1 hr 35 mins and 1 hr 45 mins.

Haven't a clue what busses you would take.  Perhaps your local Sheffield bus company has a website which may have a journey planner.  Also, try the National Rail Enquiries website, I am pretty sure you could get there by train, but you would probably have to change once or twice.
