Transportation Question

I am 16 and live on the east coast. I am going to fly to Las Angeles by my self. I plan to see L.A. at my own pace. I know that I don`t want to take a bus or taxi all the time. Other then walking how else could I get around L.A.?

There is a small subway/train system in LA.  Don't stay out too late at night...stay in touristy areas if you do.

you could rent a bicycle

You could hire someone to carry you piggyback style.

You could also run, jog, rollerblade, skateboard or ride a bicycle.

Certain parts of LA have good public transport.  You could easily cover downtown and Hollywood using the subway.  

For outlying areas, you'll have to take a bus or taxi.
