Transportation options from Germany to Holland?

I am visiting my mother with my child and boyfriend in two weeks. My boyfriend and I want to take like a day trip or one night stay in Amsterdam. I have checked the rates for the German Railway and they are really expensive. Do you know of any good sites with maybe bus rides or other trains that would be a little cheaper. Any info really would help. Thanks!!

  1. Depending on where in Germany you are, your best option might be to fly. Berlin to Amsterdam is about 700 kms, and if you're planning on taking a bus, then you'll need at least a night. Check out flights on RyanAir and EasyJet, you might be able to get a great deal (I saved about 100 Euros flying from Amsterdam to London over the train!) Amsterdam is a great city though, and you should definietly check it out!

  2. Try this

    http://www.mitfahrzentrale.de/

You ride with other people that are going to the same place, and share costs.

Or you should try to take another train which is not the Bahn, cause it is certainly gonna be expensive, especially the ICE.
