Transporting Horses Cheapest Way

i am very interested in a advertisement i saw online about a horse in florida. my mom lives in florida so i can go visit her and take a look at the horse and then come back. (i live in indiana) but i am not sure how i would transport the horse back. what is the cheapest way to transport a horse?? is it even realistic?

  1. Sometimes there's ads in local papers or Craig's List with people going somewhere and back with an empty trailer or extra room in their trailer. There are also people who transport horses all the time. Maybe do a search on Google.

    With fuel prices, it might not be realistic, depending on how much you want to spend and if the horse is what you really want.


  2. Transporting horses is not cheap at all. Especially going across several states. Even going in state can be expensive. I had brought a horse that I needed transported from San Antonio to Houston. If I would have used a transport service, it would have cost me a little over $200. And that was the cheapest one.

    Go to your local feed or tack shop and pick up a local horse magazine or paper. They will have listings of horse transporters.


  3. You could always lease a horse trailer.I've never needed to so I don't know where you can lease one,but I know for sure that you can.
