  1. I have read the previous answers. They are BS. I have spent twenty years in the insurance industry.

Firstly; insurers exclude previously existing conditions as a matter of course. Anything in connection with diabetes will be excluded. You may be in a position to negotiate inclusion for a fee but that is between you and the insurer. The idea is to cover you for anything unforeseen going wrong whilst on holiday.

  2. I agree, the first several answers are totally c**p.  Your cost is based on trip cost, length, age, state and country of residence, and existing medical health.  Best quote you may be able to find for travel - medical insurance is with TravelEx; http://www.travelex-insurance.com/index....

  3. I guess it depends where you are and how bad the diabetes is.

In the Uk most travel policies will exclude pre existing medical conditions. With something like diabetes if it is stable and undercontrol it is something companies will most likely cover. Normally you need to go through the medical screening process

  4. It entirely depends on the travel insurance you're taking out. Most just cover you for basic needs, such as injuries, certain medicines, etc and so are only dependent on the vacation cost, length and so forth. These mainstream policies do not normally cover pre-existing medical conditions, including diabetes, though this is something you should ask when ordering. Only people who can really help you is the travel agency/insurance company.

  5. The cost of the insurance is based on the cost of the vacation.   It does give you some coverage for Medical and evacuation if needed but it is more for lost bagage and missed flights etc.  The cost is flat fee.
