I am really nervous about travelling as I am a woman and I have never travelled on my own before but I really need to get away and see more of this beautiful world

I was thinking of doing the around the world trip

Is there anyone who has done this?

And what kind of advice can you give me?

  1. Go with a group!  Traveling alone to unknown places will inevitably prove to be more than you can handle!  Book a tour with a group and you'll be safer.

  2. seems you have a passion to do this so don't let it go by, you're right it is a beautiful world and you won't reget doing it you'll regret not doing it.

I would say confidence and not letting your guards down.

confidence to learn about where you're going not let people there think you're variable as that they can take advantage of you, it's a balance don't lose sight of what you're there for and it's to have fun and enjoy. make an agenda of what you want to do while there and where. it's normal to be nervous but once you break the ice as in anything else you'll be a pro! and who knows that may encourage your friends to come along next time. plus there are group trip you can find out about with your travel  agent. all in all stay safe and have a BLAST!

  3. I have traveled alone to several places and keep getting surprised on the shock that this provokes on my family and friends...

First of all, you should not be nervous, but excited! Second, be well prepared. Research the most you can on the place you'll be visiting, ask locals if possible, this way you'll be able to prevent dangerous situations ie in Singapur no chewing gum is allowed. Always ask the ppl in the hostels for tips and ALWAYS get a map. Have a positive attitude, I believe in the "laws of attraction", meaning if you're afraid of getting robbed, you will be robbed. If you stay positive and confident, it will show, but it doesn't mean you don't have to be careful.

Lucky you! able to go on a world trip!! good luck and enjoy!
