  1. Don't pack anything but a change of underwear.  My suitcase is a converted fiberglass toolbox, modified to take the shoulder strap from a Sony BetaCam Camera... it's nearly indestructible and it fits under ANY airline seat.

I've traveled all over the world and can go for a month or more with nothing more than a camera case and a tooth brush and I can tell you for a fact that you don't need to drag a bunch of stuff with you.  Start with ONE suitcase or back pack with nothing more than a change of underwear and maybe an extra shirt and then buy what you need when you need it... and then use it and leave it in the hotel or pension when you leave... I never drag a bunch of stuff with me... you can travel light and fast and cheap or you can travel heavy, slowly and at great cost to get others to handle your luggage... the choice is yours.

  2. Bring your clothes, toothpaste, toothbrush, Ipod or portable Dvd, or your portable video game, sunscreen, undies, socks, and shoes.
