  1. Brilliant idea !

kaikoura is best for whale watching, and seafood ! mmmm

and then the west coast is nicer than the east but kaikoura is on the east...

travel from nelso down 2 kaikoura then to pancake rocks and down south to wanaka

  2. Kaikora, I think it is called has lots of whale watching. Nelson is also really nice.

  3. Please don't shout!

Go to Kaikoura for whale watching. Nearby is Hanmer Springs and Maruia Springs for hot pools and scenery.

(These are both north of CH)

Other scenery that's worth checking out is Geraldine, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Central Otago.

    (These are to the south)

And Akaroa, which is a day trip out of CH.

Paragliding is done on the Port Hills and can fit in with a trip to Akaroa.

You can google all these places.

In a week you can't do much, why not stay longer?

  4. If you can stay longer drive down to Queenstown and take in the adventure sports available as well as the postcard scenery along the way.
