Triathalon..?

I am gearing up to train for a triathalon...I need to know what is the order of the events?

Bike

Swim

Run

????

It's always swim, bike, run. BTW, it's spelled "triathlon".

I would venture to say you're a novice?

EDIT: So what type of bike do you train on?

You should get a bike ASAP, it's quite different than riding in the gym.

Swimming is almost always first, for two reasons, logistics and safety (logistics - wave starts, it is not practical to have everyone start at the same time, safety - if you are tired out on the bike or run you can just stop, if you run into difficulty during the swim you might get into trouble so they want you to do it fresh, plus it's easier for the event organizer to keep track of people going into and out of the water).

Biking is usually next, with running last. But there is a really great half iron in Maryland where biking is the last event.  The reason biking is not usually last is logistics, since the bike course usually uses car lanes on roads, so they want to finish it as early as possible.
