Tribute Tattoo for my dad???

Question

My dad passed away when I was 14 from cancer, I and now 21 years old. I want to get a tattoo as a tribute for him, nothing huge just something small. He loved working on cars and he was native american, he had a tattoo of an anchor on his forearm, and i was thinking of getting just one like that or should I incorporate his passion for fixing cars? if so, what can I get that would incorporate something with fixing cars? a tool or what? I don't know what to do. any suggestions??????

also, I was just thinking of getting his birthdate tattooed in small numbers on my wrist or somthing?

I would appreciate some suggestions.

i think native american tattoos are really awsome and something i think would eb awsome is to do something like a dream catcher or wolf  with a car and like the anchor on the wrist his date just a thought

ok i was immediately drawn to his having an anchor as something you should use to commemorate him.

i think if you got the anchor you could put his dates at the base of the anchor. that's curved bottom part. not sure the name of it.

you could put his name on one side and dates on the other side.

it's not so masculine an idea that if you are a girl it would look butch or odd on you. i think it could work for you if you are a son or daughter

well, i wish i did have a suggestion for you but i don't. the only thing i can say is it'll just come to you. i have a tattoo dedicated to my mom and for the longest time i was thinking of what i could get but it just randomly came to me. there were a few times i almost just went and got it done just because i was anxious and wanted it already. my advice is to just not do that because you'll probably regret it when a better idea comes to you. if you want something small, i have one of my tattoos behind my ear. i thought it was a pretty cool place. god bless..take care.

I think going with images is always more interesting than just his birthdate or name.

You could go to an artist and tell him/her about your father's anchor tattoo and his passion for cars.  I bet they could come up with an awesome design that would incorporate both of those things.
