Tripodi family name?

Does the name have a specific meaning? Are there still many Tripodi's, mainly in the Palermo/Sicily area. Specifically anyone that left Palermo round about WW2? Any info will be greatly appreciated, Tnx

Yes, it has a meaning: a Tripode is a 3 leeged table or container, very used in ancient times. Tripodi is the plural of this name. The english name is tripod.
