Trolleys and buses?

Question

Does anyone know if you can use a bus transfer ticket as a trolley ticket and vis versa ?

it depends on the transit system

I know you cant use a transfer to get one of San Franciscos

Cable cars  but I *think* you could get a transfer from

the cable car to a bus though

but if you are Los Angeles the Metro doesnt issue to

transfer to other Metro operated lines they  only  insue inter-agency transfers

but in Santa Monica bus lines you can use a transfer on either Santa Monica or Metro

etc
