Question:

Truck Issue with Dealer?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

Just bought a 2008 Ford truck and I now have 10,000 miles on it at 6% financing. The dealer called to ask if I would be interested in returning it and taking a truck with only 100 miles on it with 0% financing with more features on the truck. I am very leary of this and want to know what is in it for them. Is it because of the gas prices and they want to "move" inventory around? Just want some opinions. Thanks

  1. You should be leery.  I doubt they will just let you walk out of the dealership with the new truck without getting more money from you.  The salesman will get a bonus for selling the new truck and they will surely charge you the difference between your truck and the newer one.

  2. get the guy's name, and look up the dealers phone number in the phone book and call him back by name, don't use the number that he gives you.  it could be a scam.

  3. Im sure its is not out of altruism.

But you may have a deal here. 6% vs 0%. new truck, more features. Is the warranty at least the same ?

What is interest costing you? Whats the mileage like on the new one?

I cant answer these questions. You have to look at the closing costs for the changeover etc. But  its something to consider and you are under no obligation.
