Truth and lie can exist only in imagination, right? I mean morality, not science. You can't deny something real, math is real.

  1. OK, let's look at it your way..."math is real".  I tell you 13x7=28.  You tell me 13x7=91.  Only one of us can be right.

I can show you 3 ways to prove I'm right...addition, multiplication, and division.  And when I do the math my way, it always comes out 28.

Where's the truth.  Is it true to say that 13x7=28?  If you said you agreed, then would you be lying? Maybe compromising, but even in compromising, are you not betraying the truth?

My point is that there's a right way and a wrong way.  There's also a not only a truth, but even an absolute truth, and that absolute truth is what leads to the correct answer.  But if such is so, then all the other ways must be wrong, or lies, for they don't result in the correct answer, and if you say your way is the correct way, even though it doesn't come up with the correct answer, then you must be lying...or wrong.

    So yes, Truth does exist.

  2. Volumes have been written on this question.

Math is not truth.  Math is a construction.

Consider this:  Let's say I make a unique object.  I tell you that this thing is called a pligemphop.  You ask me, "what is a pligemphop?", and I hold it up and point at it and say, "this is a pligemphop!"

Am I speaking the truth? Would it have been a lie if I had said, "this is a thorpeldrueeze" instead? How could both statements be true?

Math is a language.  We point at things and we agree to call them by certain names, and when we all follow the same rules, we all get the same results.  This doesn't make it truth.

Does that mean that there is no truth?

I wouldn't say that. Renee Descartes found one undebatable truth.  If I've got thoughts in my head, I have to be here.  I can't have the thought "I don't exist" in my head without creating a paradox. Someone's got to be here having the thought if the thought is here.

This is real.  There is no way around it.

I don't know if that answers your question or not.  You are raising the question of epistemology--the study of how we know what we know. It's a fascinating topic.  I'm always delighted to see questions on this.

  3. Truth definitely exists. The propopsiton, "Truth doesnt exist" is a great contradiction. When you say that truth doesn't exist your saying its true that truth doesn't exist so your saying there a truth, the truth that truth doesnt exist. So no matter how you put it there has to be truth.

  4. Of course Truth exists.  Truth and lie does not "only exist in the imagination."  They're both very real.   Truth is found in the Bible.  Of course, most folks don't want to accept the Bible.  Nevertheless, that's where you'll find Truth.  Read it for yourself.

  5. Truth is a notion derived in part from science:  the plumb line is "true," the maths are logical, etc.

Moral truth asks of the claimant a personal or soulful awareness.

If a human does not maintain a soulfield awareness, then for that person, impersonal sowing and reaping, combined with awareness of consequences, gradually develop con-science.

  6. Yea, it's really up to ourselves to make the decision on what is true and not. While there may be evidence in physical reality, we can never be certain we all are witnessing the same things going on.

It's entirely possible that there isn't truth at all. In fact, we may not even exist...maybe only you do, and you answered this from your sub conscious... or maybe you're a figment of the readers imagination. Possibly, the person reading this, whoever it could be, is the only real person.

    Hmm...

  7. We can only state it truth or it lie with the present of prove and evidence. If the evidence is not firm, or questionable. We cannot conclude it and it still uncertain

  8. Math is real according to whom?

If math is real then is that not a truth in itself?

If math isn't real then wouldn't that be a lie in itself?

Let's say that math is real..then what is the core definition of the word

real? Truth. Am I only imagining that it's raining outside

or does math has to calculate this phenomenon as real?

Math isn't the polyhistor here. You're assuming that math is

the only reality. If such is the case, then why do so many other

    non-mathematical categories exist?

Math is a by-product of truth and lies. It didn't create itself. Math

merely proves the existence of God and disproves your own theory.

Once again, the Devil's Arithmetics is being applied..praising math as the Creator of all things. Giving it a Divine function and allowing it to be

some type of Supreme Entity. But, this idol your hold in such high regards and worship; is limited by its ability to carry out the task of solving any given problem. Even math has some remainders and doesn't always solve Y. Therefore, it's also limited by interpretation

    as well.

Why do we know that math is real? Because it was given to us by God. God told Noah how to build the Ark; in how many cubic feet

and etc.,. I'm sorry, but you've just proven the existence of God; his

    truth; and Satan's lies. I mean..congratulations!! You're a genius!!

    Peace

    Joy

  9. Of course there are moral truths... doesn't mean that everyone accepts them as truth though. There's always an exception to a belief but that doesn't make it NOT true. There are universally/generally accepted ideas of good and bad throughout societies. Whether a person or even a culture goes against these truths doesn't change the fact they are true. Acceptance or the lack of doesn't invalidate the idea. The fact that you can think of some scenario where the lesser of two evils means violating an accepted moral truth in no way makes makes an evil action good or vice versa. Example... the murder or rape of an innocent is an immoral act. Just because you can create a scenario where less harm would occur if you did murder the innocent doesn't make it less immoral, just acceptable in the situation. Example: You can save the lives of thousands if you only kill this one child. You have to do one or the other. It's an absurdity of course.

So absolutely there are truths, absolute truths.

  10. whether it does or doesn't exist doesn't really matter. all that matters is what we think is true. we create our truth and our false
