Trying to install a computer

Trying to install a computer desktop pc (Ei 209) into existing monitor, keyboard & mouse. The monitor is not registering at all, even tho' we are connecting correctly into the monitor point as described on the rear of the computer.Why is this not connecting? We have tried Philips & Dell monitors, and both fail to connect.
