Question:

Turkey? What's going on?

Ahmedajin was recently in Turkey and was allowed to pray at the Blue mosque (this is unusual and statesman usually are praying in smaller mosques) while at the same time not paying tribute to the Atatürk Memorial which is proper etiquette for foreign politicians to do when they come to Turkey. Why is Turkey letting insane politicians like Ahmadajin snub Atatürk and have a mob assemble that shout anti American/Israel slogans? Why is Turkey sympathetic to Iran?

  1. Hi idgır,

    who is Ahmedajin?

  2. what you say is right. This guy not paying respect to our ancestors and his anti ally messages sucks.United states and Ä°srael are our allies.

but are you going to pump some natgas from the states during winter. You know energy sources should be varied.we can not be tied to Russia or liquid natgas from Algeria during winter.

Ä°f US going to do something about the lunatic why not act?

May be the impact is imminent.

  3. beats me,alot of turks in high positions in government just dont have a clue.

i wouldnt even let Ahmedajin in the country if it was up to me.

and as far as im concerned any turk who chants anti american or anti israeli slogans needs to get the h**l out of turkish borders and go and live in iran with him.

  4. no human muslim is not allowed to go to the house of allah

  5. Turkey is not sympathatic to Iran, Turkey only wants to play a facilitating role in nuclear talks with Iran. Ahmedinejad's visit was not an official state visit, it was a working visit. That's why it was held in Ä°stanbul, instead of Ankara, and that's why the authorities did not apply the usual ceremonies. But his visit was stricty criticized by Turkish people as well if that's what you're asking. That mob shouting anti-american slogans are only a marginal group of loosers.

  6. I logically agree with Gugu and Habisce's answers...

  7. First of all, no permission is needed to pray in the Blue Mosque. Besides, it is not uncommon to utilize mosques for political shows as George W. Bush had done.

Secondly, Turkey must take an active role in what is happening around it, so that's not about being sympathetic. Turkey is neither sympathetic to Iran nor to the USA/Israel. The vice versa is true as well since none of them feels sympathy for Turkey. The only thing Turkish politicians are obliged to is to protect the interests of Turkey and its citizens. Speaking of which, are you aware of the economical and political importance of becoming an energy transit country? Sacrificing our own interests for someone else’s would be insane.
