hi,purchased television last week and all was fine.this morning i switched it on and after fourty seconds the television turned itself off.i have read through the manual and double checked that i have set it up properly.the timer is set to off so that is not the problem.when it turns itself off it does not go to stand by.it goes dead.to get the telly to come on again you have to switch it off at the wall and after a minute switch it on at the wall then on at the telly.after fourty seconds pass it turns off again.it states in the manual that it may be overheating but it does not stay on long enough to overheat.just before the television turns off the picture vanishes.the big question is,is my brand new telly goosed.your help in this matter would be very much appreciated.thankyou in advance..hallyboys..Our Samsung telly switches itself off completely after varying amounts of time. Sometimes it lasts for about an hour, sometimes less. When it turns itself off we have to go to the telly, switch it off and back on again. First I thought it is due to overheating, but I doubt it that it can overheat in about 10mins. That problem started about 2 months ago and for some reason sometimes it works better than at other times and when you switched it back on about 10 times it stays on (nothing to do with the room temperature). It's not an old telly, too, maybe about 2 years and it is well annoying.
