  1. It's rather like the food in Argentina: beef, beef and more beef! Actually I like the beef more in Uruguay, it was more tasty and the parrilladas (bbq restaurants) were great in Montevideo. I recommend a place called "Donde Alberto" in the local marketplace, I ate the best meat there. You can also try delicious marmalades and jams, as well as cheese and dulce de leche.
