Question:

UFC Monopoly Threatened?

by  |  earlier

UFC fans really heated up over this or what? EliteXC is breaking that monopoly so I wonder how long it will take Dana White to burry them with hired "propaganda"? CBS contracts are a very big deal among these corporate enemies fighting in their corporate war. Share your own feelings on Dana White not getting the CBS contract first? how's that make you feel as a "Total-Die-Hard-UFC-DANA WHITE IS GOD-FAN".

  1. Did you see the show last night? That made the monopoly stronger than ever.

  2. EliteXC will fold in the next 5 years or less. UFC will be safe for a while.

  3. You're an idiot...after that show last night, Dana White was probably laughing his a-s-s off at how bad of an event it turned out to be...the tacky entrances, the cheerleaders, horrible pre-fight interviews.  I'm a big MMA fan and competitor so I'm open to watching any organization or show, but like many fans, I'm sure, I'd would rather see Elite XC fail; last night was Elite XC's downfall and beginning of the end for them.  This also demonstrated Kimbo's so called dedication, his cardio and ground skills were ridiculous...brawlers don't belong...as soon as their complete lack of technique is exposed, the losing streak begins...the same will happen with your street fighter...I love fighting and embarrassing brawlers in the cage when they tap out a minute into the fight...so you need to realize that the UFC is more relieved after last night than threatened

  4. elite xc might not last another year. they are paying the fighter way to much and not bringing in enough revenue. i am in no way a diehard ufc'er i love to watch all organizations but when u have a street fighter with a 2-0 now 3-0 record making 6 figures is kinda stupid.

  5. elite XC showed they were no match for the UFC last night there a bunch of C level fighters with money backing the show i would rather watch king of the cage

  6. Who really gives a **** about the logistics and the business aspects.  All I care about is seeing good fights and couldnt care less what fight org. brings em my way.  Whats your problem with Dana, hes just doing good business trying to expand the UFC, cant fault him for that

  7. UFC doesn't really have a monopoly, but it is the most well known and established MMA organization.

However, you are correct that the UFC fanboys are in an uproar that EliteXC made it to Network TV and could possibly replace the UFC as the most marketable organization.

We will see what the Nielson ratings were come Monday.

  8. i am not pro or con to any MMA organization even what seemed to be a protective stopage to save there cash cow i can get over but the ghetto style stupid nicknames, cheerleaders, and rappers made last night kidish and seem like i was watching a WWE show i think last night set MMA back 5-10 years the sport is now mainstream no need to ghetto it up

  9. The UFC isn't threatened at all. It has all the great fighters, all the money, all of the views, and as for CBS, the UFC could care less. The UFC is already earning 30-40 million dollars a show through PPV, so that means nothing at all to them. The UFC doesn't want that CBS contract, it already has one with Spike.

As for EliteXC as a promotion: It is garbage. It's boarderline to pro-wrestling. It will never be even close to the UFC.

  10. this is for big-popp,,,how many "figures" do you suppose elite-xc made off of last nights telecast? The arena was jammed full,  plus all of the sponsors,,It had to be a princely sum of money,,I say that if you're willing to get into a ring with somebody intent on taking your head off you ought to get paid good bucks to do it...and as for the original question I don't care about the "monopoly" factor either,,,but just remember how long the offshoot football leagues lasted..Not long, right?...The NFL is still the only show in town.   thanks for listening..

  11. all of elite xc fights are fixed except maybe lawler vs. smith. no way in h**l is ufc threatened by that mockery of mma. none of the other orgs even come close to ufc. i don't think dana is losing any sleep over that c**p. the reason dana did'nt do the cbs deal was they wanted change aspects of the production like changing the announcers
