UK Easter holidays?

I know we've already had easter but the holidays for schools are strange. When are the holidays for schools in UK?

I have never known Easter to fall outside the 'Easter' holidays. They ARE Easter holidays, no mattter how many schools are now calling it the Spring Break. We move ever closer to the US jargon, but I cant help wondering if it has anything to do with not wishing to offend non Christians by mentioning the religious festival. Already in my workplace we were told we must call the Christmas party the Winter celebration, much to the confusion and in cases disapproval of the ESOL-YES ESOL students we teach. Most of them wanted to know either when the Christmas Party would be or why the party was not called Christmas Party. Madness isnt it?

In Wales they run concurrently with Easter, therefore schools go back next week.

In England they had good Friday to Easter Monday off and returned onthe Tuesday for 2 weeks, after which they had their Easter holidays.

In some parts of the country they had the 21st March to the 6th April but in others they have the 5th of April to the 20th April and good Friday and Easter Monday off.

I agree it is strange this year ,here in East sussex we break up tomorrow for two weeks it`s called the spring break.

they vary according to the school.  sometimes the school's website will tell you, or the local education authority's website.
