  1. It might be shiyber loq base (Definatly wrong spelling but thats hows its phonetically said)

  2. I think you're talking about LSA Anaconda. It's a logistical supply base. When I was in Baghdad, I would haul broken down/blown up vehicles up there about once a week for repairs. It seemed like it was a little further than twenty miles, though. More like 30, but driving in that traffic on the north side of Baghdad made it seem like 200 miles.

  3. FOB Warhorse

  4. There is a lot of them.  Why do you need to know?  Do you know what it starts with or sounds like?

EDIT:  LSAA Anaconda is no longer.  It's now Joint Base Balad which is one of, if not the largest in Iraq.  But it's not just Army.  And it's about 40nm from Baghdad but there are others within 20nm.  Whatever it is you probably won't find much information on the internet about it.

  5. Ba Qubah? Vanguard? Lots of choices, actually.

Best bet, ask him, if he knows. The Unit could be 1 place, and he deployed anywhere needed. My guess is BaQubah, 30 miles/50 km N.E., but even that isn't specific, example, Warhorse, now called Freedom1, is one of many in that area.
