US virgin islands or bahamas?

Question

so my mom and I want to vacation this summer. we dont know where to go. should we go to the US virgin islands...or the bahamas...and why??

I just got back from the Bahamas about 3 weeks ago and it was beautiful. the water was as clear as can be and the water was 76 degrees. The beaches were awsome and LOTS of shopping. Ive never been to the Virgin Islands so i can comment on that.

US virgin islands. Because i was watching this show and i twas number 7 in the top most beautiful and best vacation places.! :)

Definately the US Virgin Islands, specifically St. John. I have never been to the Bahamas but St. John is gorgeous!!  Unlike many islands in the Carribean, which are overly commercial, St John was bought around the 1930's by one of America's Oil tycoons who turned most of the island into a national park- leaving intact it's tropical and prestine forests and beaches. Oh ya....stay at the Westin resort, they have amazing suites (with their own private pools) and they pick you up on a ferry from St. Thomas, where the airport is.

I would recommend the US Virgin islands for several reasons.

It's safer, it's a better atmosphere, particularly for females traveling alone. There are many things to do at both but restaurants, shopping, water activities and overall, the islands

are just nicer to be at.  Bahamas have more poverty and crime.
