USA based sewing contractors?

Question

I'm a fashion designer, and I know how to sew and all that jazz, but I really want to look into getting a good sewing contractor based in the US, that could mass produce some of my designs, because it would take FOREVER for me to do all that on my own.

Does anyone know of any good contractors & what the average cost would be per design?

I know the design, size, fabric, ladadada play a part in cost, but didn't know if anyone knew of an average for it all?

I'm going to start by sending you to the blog http://www.fashion-incubator.com -- it's for beginning designers who produce their own designs... lots of good information there on how things work in the sewing world once you get beyond sewing your own stuff.  Get (at least from the library) Fasanella's book -- there are a million ways to get skinned in the rag trade -- you might as well avoid at least some of them.

Pay particular attention to posts on "lean production" and "kaizen".
