Question:

USB internet connection help!!!?

I have been connecting to Xbox Live via the only ethernet connection on my DSL modem.

I also need to connect to the internet on the computer simultaneously and I am aware that it is possible to use the USB port on the modem to connect via one of the computer's USB ports to the internet.

The problem is that it says "Cannot install driver software" so it cannot connect to the internet.

Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

I am a Talk-talk broadband subscriber in the UK.

  1. I cant answer  But I strongly;y Recommend that you ring Talk talk and explain whats happening

  2. use the disc supplied and get the booklet out. it will help you

  3. Connecting a computer via a USB connection is not now recommended because of the low data transfer and also a USB is an unreliable connection. Most ISPs recommend an Ethernet connection.

I would also go as far to say that you can't use The Xboxes BB installation disc for a computer. That message basically means the computer doesn't recognise it. Different programming. You will have to get a proper computer BB installation disc.

If that is how I read your question right.
