USPS forward service?

I’m going to have about 1 month (+/- 7 days) vacation. I know USPS is doing vacation hold service, but I do not want to do the mail hold service. However, I have close relative living in same state (CA). Can I do temporary forward service to my relative’s home.

  1. You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. Ordinary mail would be forwarded and delivered to the new address, but many of your bills would not. The sender would be notified that you are temporarily away, but it would not be sent to a temporary address.

  2. I dont see why not. The minimum is 30 days. Just put the starting and ending time  on the change of address card.
