Ubuntu Linux Kernel Flaw

I read about this flaw in all ubuntu linux systems from 6.something to 8.04, i use 8.04, so i understand i have to update, i have a few questions about this kernel flaw -A - Where do i get the update patch?B - How can i know if my computer has been hacked? C - What exactly is this flaw?
