Recently I attempted to access my restore-point feature to reset my system to a recent-past restore point. I clicked on the "System Restore" shortcut icon on my desktop-(which I have used repeatedly in the past w/no problems. This time however after clicking on the icon, nothing occurred. I also attempted to open the feature going thru the Programs menu, also with no success. I then went thru Windows Explorer, found the Restore sub-folder under System32 folder under the main Windows folder, and clicked on the "rstrui.exe" file, also with negative results. Upon rt-clicking on "My Computer", then clicking "properties" for same, it displays the usual tabs; General, Computer name, Hardware, Advanced, Automatic Updates, Remote, but there is no tab shown now for; "System Restore". I'm not sure why this tab isn't shown, but I am unable to access the restore feature thru that tab. My feeling is that the program is still there, but is somehow disabled, and I am at a loss as to how to access it to enable it, if this is indeed the problem. I am running Windows XP-Home edition with SP-2, on a Systemax Ascent A30 AMD-Athlon, purchased in 2004. Any ideas? Thank you!
George
