Unable to scan to a file

Question

The "scan to "drop down" menu is blank, even though I select a file to scan to. When I scan a document the printer comes back with a message "error unable to scan to file". During installation I select the file to scan to, however, the system is not retaining the information. Aargh! This frustrating.
