Ixtatpa is a quite town.  There are only a couple of bars.  Either disco bar will let you in, but you may only be able to dance.

I would and did not travel into Zihuatanejo, to party.

It is not dangerous, I just liked to stay within walking distance from my hotel

It depends on how underage..... My daughter was going to Carlo's and charlies and Senor frogs at 16 no problem, Christines the disco might be an issue. It is a very quite town the night life is pretty non existent except on the weekends. I don't think that if you are 17-20 you will have a problem at all the resorts will feed you booze, my 11 year old was getting it without my permission:( have fun I go 2X's per year can tell you whatever you would like to know email if you have any more ?'s
