  1. It does vary state to state.  If you go to court or not depends on how the state handles tickets and your plea.  If you plea not guilty then you will go to court to prove your case. Call the courthouse to find out what you need to do.  The phone number should be on the ticket, usually on the back.  The ticket might even have information of what you need to do.

In Utah we have to contact the courthouse no earlier than 5 days and no later than 14 days after we get a ticket.  We then get a date to show up for court mailed to us.

In addition, if you quit s******g up then after a couple of years you can expunge (remove from public view) your record whether it is your juvenile (younger than 18) or adult (older than 18) record.

  2. Yes!! You must go to court if there is a date on the ticket.  If there is no date, you just need to pay a fine.  If you are under 18, your record might be cleared when you turn 18.  If you are over 18, you will probably keep the conviction forever.  But, on the bright side, almost everyone has participated in underage drinking.  Call the Clerk in the County from where the ticket was issued for more information.

  3. I had the same thing, you don't have to go to court (they have bigger things to deal with), you just have to pay the fine of the ticket.

Also, here, in Canada they don't put that on your record whatsoever, but I am not sure about where you live (assuming the US)

If you are really scared about it, go to the place where you get your drivers license and can pay off tickets and ask them if it will be on your record or not. (my place is ICBC, which is a joke) but yeah

    haha, dont worry about it!
