Undercooked chicken?

how do u no if a chcken is cooked? i noticed sometimes chicken is red in the meat from restaurants, is this undercooked?

Most chicken from restaurants is marinated, which leaves the meat a bit pink looking. As long as the juices are clear looking it is done, if the juices look bloodied then it is undercooked.

if its done it should be white in the middle, and throughout, dont eat it if its got any red in it.  could make you sick.

It should be white..sometimes I notice chicken can look a little light pinkish..I cook it longer if it is..nuke it a few mins..

chicken should never be red in the middle.. you can tell if it is cooked throughly or not.. its white,, and cooked all the way through...

Actually, if it is "free-range" chicken it is not supposed to be cooked until it is white, but you KNOW when you have ordered free-range.

Ok, salmonella (spelled correctly, btw) is diarrhea and throwing up.  NOT burning urintation for months or years - that's VD.  It isn't pretty, it isn't fun, but it also WON'T last that long, and it WON'T kill you.  Generally lasts no more than a day.

Red is bad, a little pink isn't too good, but on dark meat, it isn't the end of the world, either.  If you are at a restaurant, send it back, nicely.  If you are at your mother-in-law's house, just stick it in the microwave for an extra minute or two.  Just tell her you like it overcooked.  It shouldn't be too bad, unless she's about to go off the handle about what an ungrateful daughter-in-law you are...then just have the hot dogs.  ;)

chicken needs to be white in the middle and throughout. If it is not you have the possibility of getting salminila (sp) which is no good...think of burning urination for months or years.

I do not eat chicken unless it is white. Sometimes my mother-in-law barbeques the chicken and it looks pink. I eat a hotdog instead! That worries me!
