  1. Underdevelopment is a situation of a country deduced by some data such as Gross National Product compared to those of the rich countries, level of investment etc. Underdevelopment has been explained in terms of bad institutions or inherited social structures that stop progress. Both of them, power through a net of institutions and social herarchy lead to certain ways of living that do not let changes happen. In this way institutionalism and structuralism, theories that explain underdevelopement and poverty work together worldwide.
