Unemployment in CA?

Question

So I'm going to be laid off from work next month sometime. I was looking at the EDD website and it seems as though this means you automatically receive it without an interview or anything. Is this true? Also how long does it normally take to receive? I live in CA and as you can imagine need finances. Anyone know? Thanks.
