Question:

Unresponsive Wii Remotes?

I've had my Wii console for about a year now, and my Wii Remotes are now unresponsive. Whenever I press one of the buttons, the lights at the bottom of the Remote blink and nothing else happens. I just got Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Play (both brand new (The Wii Remote in Wii Play has the same problem)), and I can't even get onto the games.

How can I make my Wii Remotes responsive again?

  1. Ok.First open the slot where you can put the sd card in.Then you will see a red button.Next remove the cover from both wii motes. You will also see a red button.Press both red buttons on the wii motes and the wii console and then the wii motes will be synced and they will work.

  2. hi. there may be 2 problems. you either don't have enough batteries in both controllers or you need to connect it with the wii console. To reconnect there is a little bit at the back of the controller were the batteries go. you will find a little red button. hold that down and your controller should reconnect. if it dose not then i have no idea what is wrong with your controller. hope i helped x

  3. Try synching the remotes.

-Remove the battery cover on the back of the remote you are trying to synch. Press and release the red SYNC button inside the cover. The lights on the front will blink.

-Open the SD card slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press and release the red SYNC button.

-When the lights on the front of the remote stop blinking, the connection is complete. Your remote is now synched. The light that is illuminated indicates the player number.

  4. As others have stated, a simple resync should work.

  5. I think your wii mote has gone out of sync. That usually happens to me when I press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time accidentally.

try synching them again by doing what the other guy said, press the red button next to the SD card slot on the console and the red button next to the wii remote batteries at the same time, they should give you information on how to do that in your wii manual.

But usually It just fixes on its own by turning the console on and pressing a few buttons and it resyncs all by itself.

  6. If resynching doesn't work, try turning off your console and unplugging it from the wall for a few seconds. This will reboot the Wii's Bluetooth adapter and fix a glitch it sometimes gets that causes such a problem.
