Unusable movie files?Please help!?

Question

I recently recorded video using a mini-dvd camera onto a memorex dvd+rw disk. After i put the dvd in the computer,when i go to edit them they come up in different forms such as dob. why is this happening and how do i fix it?

dob is a video format same as vob or ifo

if you have a burning software like nero drag the file into (make a dvd type file) and it should be encoded for you to play back.

But if you want to edit the video from a DVD based camcorder, you need to get it into a format the your editor will work with.

Rip the DVD using HandBrake

handbrake.fr/

then bring it into Windows MovieMaker or Apple iMovieHD.
