  1. it depends if you are willing to put in the work. a D isnt that bad. try it for 5th year and then drop down if you find it to hard as long as you dont need it for a future career like teaching

  2. It depends really on why you got the D and what you are willing do do about it.

Did you get the D because you didn't put the work in, didn't try and were lazy about it?

If so then you will just need to put the work in. But be honest with yourself about whether or not you are willing to put the work in.

Theres no point in knowing you are capable of doing honours if you honestly know in yourself that you wont put the work in.

Or did you get the D but you were trying your best and you just dont have an apitude for it?

If thats the case then why not drop down to pass.

What you need to decide is whether the amount of work you will have to put in is worth it?

Do you want to study seomthing at college that requires honours Irish?

Then it would be worth it.

If not then it may not be worth it might take away from the time from your other sujects.

Dont forget though that if you want to go to college you have to pass Irish, so any pass in lower level is better than failing higher level.
