  3. True. They don't have to make platforms stating their opinions on different matters or submit to public pressure. Supposedly they are immune to politics, and make decisions based on law only.

    Unfortunately, when there is a vacancy, the president in power will always choose a justice who agrees with the president's party's politics. So we really do have a liberal/conservative federal court, which is a shame.
