Using Dban, killdisk or similar?

if you wanted to use any of these wiping systems, are they limited to the files or materials on your computer that you yourself deleted, like those you intentionally sent to the recyle bin or does it wipe out everything including programs such as windows, adobe, microsoft & such. obviously i am not very knowledgeable on computers. please help- any help is appreciated!!!

  1. it depends I think you can dleet specific file and wipe it permanently and you can boot of it, anyway take a look at the link below its a basic introduction to permanently deleting files and wiping hd(disk and file shredding)

  2. By default, both these programs will erase the entire disk. DBAN in fact will erase any disk it finds on the system.

    But, Killdisk has a Wipe function which only erases unused space.

    DBAN has no such function.
