Question:

Using Loreal Super Blonde,?

I have dark brown hair, and I want to go platinum blonde. I was thinking that the loreal super blonde would probably first turn my hair orangey. Is it okay to apply once, and then the next day apply another box of it? Would I need to get some toner or something from Sally's?

I don't have the money to get it done professionally.

  1. You shouldn't dye your hair from a box. Learned that along time ago. Not to be rude, but if you're not naturally blonde, you probably shouldn't try it. It's really hard to pull off a natural looking blonde. BUT to answer your question since I highly doubt you're going to listen to me, no, you can't apply it again the next day. It says right on the box to wait a few weeks. I would do that, to keep your hair from falling out.

  2. I have personally used Clairol Born Blonde Maxi to get my medium brown hair up to blonde... it was yellow after I used it (not orange). Then I used a Natural Instincts color as my toner (Natural Instincts is non-permanent and not harsh on hair)

I'm thinking Super Blonde might be the same... but since your hair might be darker than mine, it might end up a little orangeish. If it does, I recommend using Revlon Colorsilk's Ultra Light Ash Blonde as your toner. It is ammonia-free, and that would be easier (to me) than getting a developer + toner from Sally's.

But I've also heard Wella's White Lady is good for platinum hair. I've been everywhere from black to light blonde, but not platinum. I've researched it and thought about it, though! lol!

Edit: In response to the answerer below me...

    1) You can (and I have), go to blonde with box colors. My hair has not fallen out. It is still shiny and healthy.

    2) Won't look natural? The last time I dyed my hair something other than blonde, everyone told me I looked better as a blonde, so I stripped my hair BACK to blonde the next day.

    3) You CAN apply it the next day after bleaching... but make sure it is AMMONIA FREE, NON-PERMANENT, OR LOW VOLUME DEVELOPER. That's the rule I usually go by.
