Question:

Using digicam as webcam?

I have a Fujifilm E900 and wish to use it as a webcam, is this possible? It came with a scart lead to connect it to my tv but I dont see why I would need that.

It also has a lead to connect the camera to a usb port on the pc, but this seems to only be to used to upload pictures to the computer. You must turn the camera on and the lens doesnt open, just a white screen comes up for uploading pictures.

Any help?

  1. Hi Coco..... can't understand why no one is answering :(. I will try. Well, there are NO  digital cameras that can be used as a web cam. The reason is that a web cam takes live video and sends it directly through the computer. A digital camera uses a memory card or an internal memory... the still image or movie image is recorded then and there and is not able to continue live streaming. A web cam is like the type of camera they use for news reports on TV.... But the web cams we can buy are so afffordable to buy.... some of the Logitech brand goes for $20.00 which is so much cheaper than a digital camera anyway. Hope I was able to help clear that up for you. :)) Thanks for asking... it keeps me on my toes. :)
