Question:

Utter rubbish on TV?

What do you think? I personally wonder why anyone would pay their TV licence. What a load of utter pish. Lately there seems to be a scarcety of decent TV. Never used to be this bad. I would like to see the BBC commercialised as I don't think the cost to licence payers is justified. And I don't sympathise with people who are emotionally attatched to the corporations unique funding as I am quite sure that they squander a lot of the money and a TV corporation that takes money and spends it on rubbish is not worth getting sentimental about!

  1. It's the visual equivalent of hospital food !

  2. I agree. There is nothing worth watching on TV nowadays.

I thought it was just my memory playing tricks on me, but occasionally on Horse and Country TV (Sky channel 280) they show an old BBC nature documentary. The other day there was one about how sheep have been domesticated and bred for wool etc. (The Taming Of The Ewe, it was called.) It was totally factual, not dumbed-down, and didn't have irrelevant celebs or TV chefs or presenters involved. In fact it was an excellent programme; an hour long with an hour's worth of material in it, unlike today's programmes which seem to stretch 10 minutes'-worth out to an hour.

So yes, TV has gone downhill in the past 10 years or so. More channels equals more c**p, piled high and deep. But there's always the off switch.

  3. no disrespect but i bet you will still be watching it tomorrow & you will pay your next tv licence bill wont you! best thing is buy i dvd & join blockbusters.

  4. If I could thumbs up you I would, as it is I going to give you an star. I am seriously thinking of selling my 28" wide screen, DVD and free view box as I might watch them for about a couple of hours a week, plus I get some of my licence fee back, most of what I want to see I can watch on the net and as my laptop plays DVDs them that solves that problem.

  5. If you like tv that much, get a sky box, where you pay £40 a month and you STILL get adverts. Now that's value for money, NOT.

  6. "I would like to see the BBC commercialised"

yeah, because its so annoying when they show programmes without adverts every 15 minutes.  i mean, they actually show programmes without adverts every 15 minutes.  how dare they!

a TV licence is less than 50p a day.  for that you get all the BBc tv channels, all the BBC radio channels, and all the BBC internet stuff

but if you think ITV produces better stuff than BBC then be my guest lol

edit - i have a solution.  dont buy a TV licence and just sit round all day and night talking to your missus and drinking tea lol

"ITV is actually producing some good shows at the mo"

now i know youre winding me up lol
