  1. I guess I would have to say Vegan Gourmet cheese, nutritional yeast, beans, and couscous.

  2. Thank you for caring about the animals enough to try again! Ethics *are* are far more important than taste buds.

It really gets easier once you get into the swing of it. Learn to cook a greater variety of dishes for yourself and buy some new and interesting foods. I've discovered a whole wealth of yummies since I opened my eyes to veganism. There are so many different fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and legumes out there. There are also soya alternatives to pretty much everything.

  3. I don't have a single "life saving food."  If you couldn't find anything to eat when you were hungry, you weren't trying very hard.  I eat a wider variety of food as a vegan than I ever did as a meat eater.

Perhaps you need to pick up a few good vegan cookbooks and start cooking to see the enormous variety of delicious food you can eat.  I recommend either of Isa Chandra Moskowitz's books, "Vegan with a Vengeance" and "Veganomicon."  Also, check out the "food p**n" (don't worry, it's just pics of food, nothing bad!) in the forums at http://www.theppk.com .  If seeing what other well-fed vegans are eating doesn't convince you that you need never be hungry and uninspired, nothing will.

  4. It's great that you'd like to become vegan again.

Here is a list of vegan fake meats and non-dairy products:

I especially love Follow Your Heart soy cheese, Vegenaise mayo, Tofurky Deli Slices, Nate's Meatless Meatballs, and Gardenburger Meatless Riblets.

Grilled cheese made with Follow Your Heart soy cheese is a favorite. One of my favorite vegan recipes is for fried "chicken". I use this recipe with Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Chik'n Strips for the fake meat: http://www.vegcooking.com/recipeshow.asp...

I hope this helps. Good luck!

  5. My staple is some kind of wholewheat pasta, done in a tomato sauce with sun dried tomatoes (with vegan pesto as well if you like), with veggie mince, on bed of kale. It's gorgeous, and all the ingredients bar the kale are easily stored for long periods.

  6. fruits .veggies .vegetarian sushi..bread,,,,
