  1. A good site for current VOIP deals is

    http://voip.webexpresslane.com/

they usually have some promotion on...

  2. I use and recommend InPhonex (links through my profile)

They are a full-service VoIP company that offers free calling between account holders; and 911 service in USA/Canada.

I have Liteline from Canada for $7.95/month with area code number + unlimited incoming calls - outgoing calls are 2.5 cent/min anywhere in USA/Canada.  Includes all the bells and whistles features.

They have Unlimited incoming/outgoing USA/Canada service for $24.95/month.

Most important to remember is No Contracts, no obligations, no commitments - pay-as-you-go and month-by-month only.

Bonus that most VoIP companies don't offer is their Calling Card service at no extra cost.  Just dial any of the worldwide access numbers (or USA/Canada 1-800) and you are still only charged at VoIP rates (2.5 cent/min USA/Canada calling) through your InPhonex account.

For the more technically inclined, I use and recommend CallCentric (links through my profile).

Again, VoIP calls are free between account holders - anywhere in the world.

I have their Pay-Per-Minute DID (phone number service) for only 1.95/month.  Outgoing calls are only 1.98 cent/min anywhere in USA/Canada and incoming calls are 1.5 cent/min.

Includes 911 (USA only) + all the bells and whistles features.

You can also get Unlimited incoming/outgoing USA/Canada calling for only 19.95/month + DID phone number + all bells & whistles.

CallCentric also provides a free softphone for use on PC.

However, unlike InPhonex, CallCentric is BYOD (brind your own ATA device).  This is where it helps to have some technical savvy to configure your own ATA hardphone telephone adapter.   I use the Linksys PAP2T telephone adapter configured with both InPhonex and CallCentric (two services - one box).  InPhonex also sells phone adapters (I bought my Linksys ATA through a Canadian distributer).

Again, most important is that CallCentric is a No Contracts, No obligations, pay-as-you-go or month-by-month service.  Cancel whenever you want - no catches like many VoIP services (whose names I won't mention).

InPhonex and CallCentric also offer DID telephone numbers (area code of your choice) in over 30 countries around the world (unlike many other VoIP services) and low rates to most countries around the world.

  3. take a look at MagicJack!!!

    http://magicjack.com/site/index.html

    you get free E911 calling...

before you go out and sign up...try something cheap and see if you like it!

I use my VoIP provider for 5 years now and love it......I dont wanna say the name because I get a yahoo violation for that, but you can email me....!
