  1. hi

its very safe , may be more then u can imagine. only take care not to venture out in secluded areas with unknown persons.

its about 48 deg celcius , not good time to visit here . most of the outdoor activities will be very tiring even in night as humudity levels will be too high ti be comfortable. u can do most indoor outings like malls and water sports, even in nights and late nights.

    kids activities

sand ski, desert drive, camel ride, water parks, games areas in all major shopping malls, golf, funn rides, bowling,

adult activities apart from kids activities also

night bars, clubs, seeing the new developments , historical places, shopping,

not too expensive but bargains should be hunted for specially in sale time.

  2. Yes it is safe here no matter what country you come from.

The average maximum temperature is 41 C. But if you are unlucky it can be much hotter than that:

Specially in the summer it is nice for kids in Dubai. Until 22 August the DSS Dubai Summer Surprises festival will be on with a lot of activities in various malls and a large indoor Modhesh Fun Park: http://www.startpagedubai.com/shopping/D...

I would recommend for kids at least the desert safari and visit to the indoor snow park. For more ideas have a look at the 'to do list for Tourists': http://www.startpagedubai.com/#To-do-Dub...

  3. I think it is very safe. Actually the place is filled with foreigners, you can dress what ever you like and probably you won't even meet a local in there cause they're a minority.

For me it was very much fun cause the city is something totally different from anything else, more like a kind of futuristic cosmopolitan project than a normal place to live in. I love hearing so many languages, seeing people of every color, race  etc., and there is a lot of fun everywhere cause the concept is meant for fun in  the first place. It is very hot in august, but i could actually stand being out for couple of hours, especially sitting in cafes in Shaikh Zayed or in Marina can be pleasant cause those skyscrapers make lot of wind in between and that is a good natural air conditioning. Cafes and restaurants are expensive, but on the other hand its a true Mecca for shopping. Enjoy your stay there!!!!

  4. 1. Dubai is one of the safest destinations in the Middle East, in fact, you'll feel right at home while you're there. It's as cosmopolitan as any western city. In fact, in some aspects it is more modern.

    2. August is not a really good time to visit Dubai. Temperatures hit 48-52 degrees Celsius (118.4-125.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Going out in the afternoon is the worst thing you can think of.

    3. Definitely. If you're looking for fun, especially with kids, Dubai is great. Wild Wadi water park, Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates are typical attractions. Plus, there's so much going on all year round, you'll never get bored.

    4. Oh, you can Shop till you grow old, you can party like you've never partied. There are a lot of party sports in Dubai. If you're looking for local attractions, you can go dune-bashing in a dune-buggy, camel-riding and sand-surfing. You can get a photograph with a falcon, you can buy gold-jewelery, you can go to some of the finest beaches in the world in Dubai. If you're living in a good hotel, you'll receive top-class hospitality.

    5. Not very expensive for US citizens. 1 U.S. dollar is 3.668096 United Arab Emirates dirhams.

A 35 mile cab ride can cost around 55-60 dirhams. Most other things are not very expensive for US citizens.

If you don't mind the heat of August, you'll have a great time in Dubai.
