Vacation to Brazil?

I want to go to Brazil for a 3 week vacation in February 2009. I would be staying with someone I know that lives there. What do I need to know, or do, before I can go there?

I don't think you have to worry. Brazilians are friendly and happy people. Just bring some small presents. Brazilians speak a little English and if you can't speak Portugese, you may have to learn a few greeting words.
