  1. Greetings from Cancun!

Don't let that "someone" scare you! Unless that someone is named Mother Nature...they don't know what they are talking about! Yes, June is the start of hurricane season and runs to November. Most of the "big named storms" have happened in the month of October.

With that being said...in the last 23-years Cancun has received only 2 biggies. Gilbert and Wilma...think about it...only 2...in twenty-three years...

If you are a betting man what are the odds of a hurricane hitting while you and your girlfriend are here? I'd be betting it isn't going to happen!!!!

This is a fact...it will be hot (already 95) and humid. No matter who says what, no matter what has happened historically, no matter what the weather station says...NO ONE knows what the weather will be!

Don't be afraid of the unknown. Grasp it and hold it...learn from it. Which would you rather happen? Sit on your front porch rocking in your rocking chair and saying "wish I gone to Cancun in 2008 when I had the chance" or "man what a great trip...glad I took the chance."

Hope to see you here..."no stinkin weather is going to run me away!"

  2. I agree with the posters above who mention to not worry. I have traveled to Cancun during the months of June and July and never had a problem. It rained, yes, it's the rainy season, but it mostly rained at night. When it rained during the day, the showers lasted for an hour at most. Can a hurricane visit Cancun at that time, sure, however keep in mind that hurricane season in the tropics lasts from June through November. Believe me, plenty of people are not canceling their vacations for six months because a hurricane might form.

All that being said, let me add this, you are going to have an excellent time, so get ready, plan your tours, get a travel book or two, learn what's to do in Cancun and you will have a wonderful time. One thing I will recommend is if you do not like the heat too much, then you should do most of your daytime activities in the water. There are plenty of tours that take place in the water as well. Everything from swims with dolphins, snorkeling tours to reefs, cenote snorkeling and the swim with whale sharks. This tour is only offered in the summer when you are traveling. You can get more information about this trip here:

The best part about most of the water tours, they last a half day. This way, if you are staying at an all inclusive resort then you don't have to be concerened about food and beverages that you are paying for but not enjoying. Finally, if you are not staying at an AI resort, you should pick up some tips from people on where to dine. Cancun literally has hundreds of restaurants, clubs and bars, so don't worry, you won't go hungry.

Have fun planning your hurricane free vacation in paradise,

  4. it isn't safe to go to mexico any month of the year dont you know what mexicans do to you there?

  5. It is the beginning of hurricane season in the Caribbean ans as per the previous answer, check to see if there are any storms that have" Names'

Cancun withstood "Wilma" a few years back as a category 5.

Cancun has only taken a few direct hits over the last several decades.  If at all you may get a tropical storm or some severe rainfall in June.  You most certainly will NOT get so much rain that it will spoil you holiday.

It may rain only at night and clear up to be a beautiful day.

You may get afternoon showers for a couple hours and it will clear up.

You may get lucky and get pure sunshine.

If you are still nervous there are internet cafes all over and you can keep an eye on things.

My favorite is  "theweathernetwork.ca  international cities clic on M and to Cancun

  6. I think you'll be ok, check the weather a day before you leave to make sure everything will be cool.  I've seen many beaches but none as awesome as cancun, you'll have a blast.  but I do warn, stay away from the touristy spots.  Most really good spots are kinda secluded.  Talk to the locals they'll tell you where all the best spots are.

  7. I've been in June three times and once in October...June is definitely the best time to go if you're trying to avoid hurricanes.
