Vacationing in Mexico?

My hubby & I have never been to Mexico. We decided to go to Cozumel. We don't speak Spanish & although I know we don't necessarily need to.. we don't know anything about Mexico & it kind of scares me. Is there any helpful sites out there that give advice to first time vacationers in Mexico.

  1. You don't need to speak spanish to go to Mexico.  Most are pretty fluent in English.

However, I would recommend you only go to Cozumel if you are a diver.  Otherwise, there isn't a whole lot to do there.  That is considered a "divers paradise".  It is your choice and enjoy your vacation to Mexico.

One tip would be to not drink the water.  That is huge because otherwise you would get sick.  Make sure you bargain with the people that work at the shops for souvenirs.  usually you will get the price that you are asking for an item.  Obviously you can't bargain with people that are in hotel giftshops but downtown, try it.

Have a blast in Mexico.  I love going there every year and you will love it to!

  2. Cozumel is a very polular site for tourism, so you probably don't need to speak spanish.

Here are some sites that will hopfully help =):

    www.travelmexico.com

    www.tripadvisor.com

    www.justmexico.org

    www.mexico-travel.com/cozumel.htm

    www.go2cozumel.com/

    www.mexicotravel101.com/cozumel-vacati...

you can also go on google and type in something like

    "travel mexico" or "vacation mexico"

    have fun!!

  3. You will love it.Most hotels are all inclusive and it is the best deal. They provide bottled water for you and if you run out ask for more. There is nothing to be  afraid of. There are lots of tourist and it is safe .Just use commom sense, don't stray onto out lying areas and stay around public areas and you will be ok.All inclusive will get you to your hotel and back for return home.It is a small town and the carriage ride is great. If you are drinkers get a bucket of iced down beer for the ride. They will stop for you to purchase it.Shopping in town is fun and excursions are fun. They are rather expensive  so check on line for ideas and prices.

  4. Hi, you don't need to speak Spanish in that area, Cancun Cozumel, xcaret and surrounding places, first quite a lot of people speak English in the airport, hotels and restaurants and the people who don't speak English are very kind and friendly, so you will kinda understand them.

I will advice to you if this is your first time in Mexico and you don't speak Spanish try not to go far from tourist attractions, take a travel dictionary and just relax and enjoy the beauty of Cozumel and the Mexican Caribbean sea.

Here's the website from Cozumel, you will find quite a lot of interesting stuff:
