Question:

Vacationing in Vancouver..?

We are thinking about vacationing in vancouver this summer. We would like to get suggestions on things to do while there and What part of the city to stay.

We like to stay in areas & hotels that have a lot of culture/ history (preferrably not a best western or holiday inn). Someplace that is "walkable".

We like to outdoorsy things, cultural things like museums, and just really take in the over all feel of the city. We are also considering moving there.

So, what would be some good things to do in terms of vacationing AND exploring the city in case we want to move there? Also... we have a 3 year old.

Thanks!

  1. Stay either in the Pan Pacific (wich is kinda expensive, but very nice and in a good area)

Go to the Vancouver Aquarium (fun for kids and adults too i guess) in Stanley Park.

Go up Grouse Mountain (Theres a Gondola you can take becuase the Grouse grind is a PAIN) THere are lots of things to do up there even in the summer!

Check out granville Island, Gastown (there are alot of hobos there though so watch out..friendly people though lol)

Check out the whole Stanley Park (Lots of great Beaches, Second Beach and Jericho are my favs)

Lots of Hikes you can do on the North Shore (West Van etc.), and you can always check out Nanimo (Take a ferry from Horshoe bay in West Vancouver)

Just try to stay in the west end for hte most part..
