As i was changing my 5month old daughters diaper today, i saw what looked like greenish looking discharge on her v****a. It looked a little like snot. It wasnt coming out, just on there if you know what i mean.

She has never had anything like this, and has absolutely no diaper rash or anything of the sort.

She has a doctors appt in the morning, but has anyone ever experienced anything like this or know what it is...or the cause??

Thanks

p.s just sensible, serious answers please.

  1. I agree with the first two answers either it was some stool that didn't get wiped away or it is an infection. Your pediatric can take a swab of the vaginal area to see if she has any bacteria growing their.

  2. My daughter has had white discharge since she was born but never any other color!! Perhaps some of her bowel movement got up there and wasnt cleaned off enough (it does happen)!! Best of luck..I hope all goes well at the doctors tomorrow!!

  3. Poor kid, hopefully she doesn't have an infection, but certainly check up w/ her pediatrician.. best wishes.

  4. I'm only able to find that white discharge is normal in babies, however I found a question on here that a mother had asked for her 3 month old girl with the same problem, the answer she chose was the best she list a number of things that it could. But I am sure that it's possibly just a little infection that the Dr. will give you medicine for tomorrow. but anyways heres the link to hers
